What are the benefits of taking a soy protein supplement?
In scientific studies, the soy protein components known as phytoestrogens have been shown to help lower cholesterol levels and the risk of cardiovascular disease, inhibit the growth of cancer cells, help decrease the risk of osteoporosis, and to be an effective treatment to reduce and prevent the symptoms of menopause.
What is special about EstroSoy?
EstroSoy is a soy protein beverage mix that provides all the health and nutritive benefits of a protein supplement in a vegetarian, cholesterol-free, dairy-free format. It contains no added sugar, is suitable for use as part of a high protein diet and consists of only water processed Supro® brand soy protein isolate - the world leader in quality soy protein. In order to increase EstroSoy's value as a supplement, the protein-digesting enzymes bromelain and papain have been added to it to enhance the digestibility and bioavailability of the protein.
How does EstroSoy work?
Soy protein isolate contains phytoestrogens such as genistein and daidzein which are able to activate estrogen receptors in the human body and thereby mimic the actions of this hormone. Phytoestrogens are especially useful and effective for human health because they are 100 to 10,000 times weaker than estrogen. This allows them to provide many beneficial effects without the harmful side effects associated with hormone treatment. Phytoestrogens have been shown in scientific studies to help lower cholesterol levels and the risk of cardiovascular disease, inhibit the growth of cancer cells, help decrease the risk of osteoporosis, and to be an effective treatment to reduce and prevent the symptoms of menopause.
Supplementation with soy protein has been shown in scientific studies to lower the level of LDL cholesterol in the blood, which reduces the risk of plaque formation in blood vessels and reduces the risk of heart disease. Genistein and daidzein also possess anti-oxidant properties that prevent the harmful oxidation of LDL cholesterol. The oxidation of LDL cholesterol is a critical step in the formation of plaques that block blood flow and reducing the level of plaque formation through soy protein’s anti-oxidant actions helps to further reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
In the continued battle against cancer, soy protein has also emerged as a natural means to help deal with the disease. Both genistein and daidzein have anti-cancer properties, as evidenced by their ability to inhibit growth of cancer cells from the breast, prostate, colon, and skin.
Does EstroSoy contain any animal products?
No, EstroSoy is 100% vegetarian and dairy-free. It is also cholesterol-free and contains no added sugars.
Does Olfactive use only non-genetically modified soy in EstroSoy?
Only Supro® Soy protein isolate - the world leader for quality, non-GMO soy protein - is used in EstroSoy.
